In particular, in those who dare to take the next step for <strong>transforming its work culture from a more human approach<\/strong> and focused on the total experience of its staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today we see in many <strong>local and transnational organizations<\/strong> a latent need to promote the <strong>ownership value<\/strong> so that it permeates in a natural way. And not that it happens in a forced way, as in the obsolete models of Human Talent management. We face a dichotomy: <strong>\"to do out of obligation or to do out of conviction\".<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When there are <strong>activities or campaigns<\/strong> to manage the organizational culture that is <strong>are made by obligation<\/strong>The result will be campaigns that may have been achieved in a timely manner. However, <strong>lack emotion, attraction, motivation<\/strong>.  Employees will simply pass them by as just another activity or campaign in the pile that we manage to meet metrics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, when these activities, plans, campaigns to manage the organizational culture <strong>are made out of conviction<\/strong> of the staff, the result is different. And that they can show themselves with <strong>authenticity<\/strong>regardless of culture and education. Likewise, the opinions of all people should be <strong>listened to and valued<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>empathy principle<\/strong> makes people feel that they are <strong>unite in one voice<\/strong> to achieve wonders and be invincible. This is how it is possible <strong>create a community <\/strong>to support each other, help others and manage actions in favor of inclusion for all people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To this end, within the organizations there is a figure that is the driving force for the <strong>cultural change takes place naturally <\/strong>and with conviction. These are the <strong>employee resource groups<\/strong> o <em><strong>Employee Resource Groups<\/strong><\/em> (<strong>ERG<\/strong>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here we will tell you what they are, the scope they have, their benefits and some of the best practices for adopting, managing and empowering them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">What are ERGs?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>ERG<\/strong> are groups or communities of workers who share a common <strong>common interest in inclusion<\/strong> of people and their <strong>intersectionalities<\/strong>its <strong>professional development<\/strong>the improvement of the <strong>corporate culture<\/strong> and the <strong>business results<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Being driven by people with <strong>background, experience or similar characteristics<\/strong>are <strong>voluntary and open<\/strong> to all employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ERGs often act as catalysts for a <strong>positive change in the culture of an organization<\/strong>. This is because <strong>normalize diversity and increase the visibility of minorities<\/strong> in the workplace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>ERG <\/strong>is a <strong>self-directed group<\/strong> who believes in himself. They do this by ensuring that their <strong>efforts are in line with both corporate and employee expectations<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Belonging to a <strong>ERG also helps employees<\/strong> to feel that they can be <strong>authentic at work<\/strong>. It requires a lot of <strong>courage and determination to initiate real change<\/strong>. Don't think that everything will be colorful at the beginning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Creating an employee resource group leads to <strong>time<\/strong>, <strong>effort<\/strong> and, above all, a lot of <strong>internal negotiation<\/strong>. In addition, it is required <strong>clear communication<\/strong> about <strong>what are its objectives<\/strong> and to the <strong>added value<\/strong> that it will give to the culture of the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are several ways to form ERGs and all of them are correct as long as the ERG exists. <strong>intention<\/strong>the <strong>passion<\/strong> and a <strong>openness of the leaders<\/strong> to explore terrain sometimes unknown to themselves. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is also imperative that people are encouraged to make a change and <strong>managing a culture of respect and intersectionality<\/strong>. Thus, the way to train them will be managed progressively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In my experience, ERGs are formed when there is a desire to manage a common vision and objective. For me, this objective is to generate <strong>visibility and representation<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Therefore, the <em>Employee Resource Groups<\/em> are formed from <strong>persons belonging to the same community<\/strong>in addition to<strong> allies<\/strong> who are convinced to raise their voices and <strong>managing change for all<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">Recommendations for training <em>Employee Resource Groups<\/em> o employee resource groups<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Be clear that, if you are going to do so, it will be a <strong>a project with many nuances, challenges and lessons learned<\/strong>. But yes, with a lot of <strong>visibility, reach<\/strong> e<strong> impact<\/strong>especially in people when forming a community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here are some of them <strong>recommendations for forming an ERG<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>establishes a <strong>work plan<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>delimit your <strong>scope<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>define your <strong>mission and vision<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be clear <strong>your SMART goals<\/strong>which must be <strong>specific <\/strong>(<em>Specific<\/em>), <strong>measurable <\/strong>(<em>Measurable<\/em>), <strong>reachable <\/strong>(<em>Achievable<\/em>), <strong>realists <\/strong>(<em>Realistic<\/em>)y <strong>of limited duration <\/strong>(<em>Time-bound<\/em>);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>defines the <strong>structure<\/strong>, <strong>roles <\/strong>y <strong>responsibilities<\/strong> within the group;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>establishes a <strong>calendar of activities <\/strong>and a <strong>possible budget<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>keep in mind that <strong>you're going to need a lot of help<\/strong> and that is why it is convenient to have at hand a <strong><em>Executive Sponsor<\/em><\/strong> (executive sponsor), who is a key figure in the <strong>ERG sustainability<\/strong> and the support of the leadership teams;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have a <strong>succession plan<\/strong>The ERGs have a cycle and so do people;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>considers that the <strong>scope is voluntary<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be aware that<strong> there will be challenges<\/strong>especially for <strong>presence and communication<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>make sure that the <strong>employee value<\/strong> and your <strong>DEI strategy (diversity and inclusion)<\/strong> be part of your objectives in the proposal and development to give more weight and commitment;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have fun and, to the extent possible, turn them into <strong>trusted groups<\/strong> and promotes innovation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>identifies and invites all those who want to be part of an ERG<\/strong>as members with a role and responsibility or as agents of change.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-left\">How can we manage and promote an ERG within the company?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To enhance the <strong>results of ERGs within organizations<\/strong>Some of the aspects to be taken into account are the following. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Believing in the power of these groups as <strong>catalysts for sustainable change<\/strong>. To do this, it is important to give a <strong>vote of confidence and empowering people<\/strong> who want to form it.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>To provide <strong>employee confidence<\/strong> on the role they play in the <strong>management of safe work environments<\/strong> and that there will be a <strong>real commitment from leaders to support them<\/strong> and to the change generated.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Generate a <strong>paradigm shift<\/strong> in people by defending the human rights of all through a true internal and external commitment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remember that <strong>it's okay not to know how things are done<\/strong>. As companies we must be vulnerable and sensitive to <strong>unlearn and relearn<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a <strong><em>Executive Sponsor<\/em><\/strong> helps a lot to <strong>breaking down barriers<\/strong>to generate movement and proactive and sustainable action.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Allocate budgets that are translated into action plans<\/strong> tangible (conferences, workshops, participation in forums, etc.), <em>summits<\/em>).
