In this regard, the UN explains some of them:

"Gender stereotypes, discriminatory hiring practices and promotion policies also contribute to pay inequalities."

What is the outlook for the wage gap in Mexico in 2025?

Mexico is a country where there is still a long way to go to achieve wage equality. According to the Salary survey 2025by the human resources platform Worky, currently there is an average gender pay gap of approximately 25%.

In this regard, we take the following data:

"The average salary for men is $31,025 per month, while the average salary for women is $23,178."

If we obtain the percentage, this means that women earn 74.7% of what men earn overallThe difference is 25.3%.

However, when we talk about national senior management positions:

"Men earn on average $302,285 and women $265,160. At the regional management level, the gap continues at $462,282 versus $427,338."

The above data allow us to realize that no matter the levels or hierarchy within a companythe variant of gender is still a determining factor and causes a wage disparity.

In addition, the World Economic Forum conducted the study Global Gender Gap Index 2025. In this document, Mexico ranked 123rd out of 146 countries in the category of wage parity between women and men.. The problem is that over the years, Mexico is on a downward trend in this analysisThe report of the 2024 our country was in 119th place.

On the other hand, it is not only necessary to look at the category of gender, there are also salary differences among the states of the mexican republic. According to Worky's analysis, Mexico City, Nuevo León and Jalisco have the highest salaries.
